Prospector’s View Loop; Superstition Mountains, July 5, 2018 GPS Map

Starting at first light, we tried to beat the heat and did for a while. My car thermometer read 73° before the hike but 100° afterwards. The climb up to the Green Boulder, which is shaded in winter, was in full sun this morning.

Bill called the other day and suggested I think of a hike for this morning. Prospector’s View Loop was the best I could come up with. I got to meet Frank Rutledge, a volunteer at the Superstition Mountain Museum. Andy also joined us.

Despite the summer, we actually met a few people on the trail. Wildlife consisted of rabbits and lizards.
