North of Lone Mountain; Tonto National Forest, September 23, 2018 | GPS Map |
Rough country between the northern slopes of Lone Mountain and Usery Pass Road. But the going gets easier as you go farther north. It’s best to park west of my waypoint instead of southwest at the wide turnoff. There’s a fence to cross and steep washes along the way. For the best pictures, get there 45 minutes before sunset. |
