Red Mountain, Lava Cave; Flagstaff, June 24, 2019
  Red Mtn.
  Lava Cave

Hadn’t hiked since June 7, because of fires and other things going on. Meanwhile I had never been to Red Mountain, northwest of Flagstaff. So it’s about time.

Went to the Lava Cave first, but I didn’t go inside because I lacked the equipment. It’s quite popular. A bunch of schoolkids were going in, led by their three teachers.

Then I went back to the highway and drove to Red Mountain. Worth the trip, for the scenery! Along the way I met a half dozen people on the trail.

Thanks to John Richa and to Michael Humphrey for leading Arizona Trailblazers hikes there.
