Soldiers Trail Day Hike; Flagstaff, June 7, 2019 GPS Map

There’s an unpaved trailhead near the Equestrian Activity Center. You get to it by turning right at the second roundabout. I missed the trailhead the first time and had to park at headquarters, but this time I found it. Trooped the loop clockwise.

My GPS batteries conked out partway through the hike, so I didn’t get all of the Soldiers Trail recorded. Replaced the batteries when I found the GPS turned off. Anyway, my map shows last year’s track as well as this year’s. Mostly stayed on the trail, though I left it to visit a Port-a-Potty near the campground. Then there were confusing side trails, some new, some well-worn, none marked.

What a perfect day in Flagstaff for hiking! A few flowers were out. I met a dozen hikers and a dozen bike riders on the trail, plus a group of 25 bike riders.

Thanks to my daughter Clara for dropping me off at the trailhead, then giving me a ride home!
