FR 10–Deer Tanks Trail; Goldfield Mountains, May 20, 2020 GPS Map

We started at first light, so we would be hiking in the coolest part of the day and we could finish before it got hot. Saw one hiker on the Deer Tanks Trail and a lot of people camped along Forest Road 10 between the trailhead and FR 1356.

I was carrying my Canon G7X camera. It was on good behavior, as was my GPS.

Thanks to my daughter Clara for going with me and taking great pictures!

This hike is all on trails or roads. You can start from Dome Mountain Trailhead or Idaho Access. It’s best done as a dawn hike in the warm months, or any time in the cooler months. Watch your step on the steep downhills.
